A year after the sudden loss of her father to cancer, photographer Scarlett Lillian found out more devastating news… that she may never be able to have biological children of her own. In the midst of panic, Scarlett ran to the beach in pleading prayer asking Jesus for comfort and wisdom at the beginning of this new season of… hope deferred.
Through her and her husband’s 5 year struggle with infertility challenges, Scarlett began writing a book to dig deeper with God, trying to desperately find hope in the midst of life’s unwanted circumstances. In her upcoming book, she tackles the hard questions we all face in life’s challenging moments such as:
- How do I hear from God when He feels nothing but silent?
- How do I keep fighting in faith when all hope seems lost?
- How do I find joy when my life story is being written differently than I wanted it to turn out?
And what might be the hardest question of all,
- How do I keep trusting God and stay hopeful when my faith just feels broken?
Through the writing of her book, Scarlett shares her journey through ugly cries along the various seasons of her grief as she battled to keep hope alive in her fight of faith to become a mother. And though her story ended up different than expected, she teaches how God uses the seasons when our hope is barren to rebuild one’s broken faith stronger and more beautiful than ever before.
