What a crazy week it’s been.  A few nights ago, we were getting ready for bed, and suddenly the sky lit up like daylight, thunder and rain started, and down came crashing another two oak trees in our backyard coming within feet of hitting our house!  A random and sudden tornado hit Jacksonville with the storm that swept across the south starting in Louisiana the day before.  We are so grateful that we are safe AGAIN after first going through Hurricane Matthew last October, but man, this little farmhouse keeps taking a beating with all these storms.  With debris now all over the place, I’m so sad to say that my yard no longer looks like it did in the first post when I gave you the outside tour.

Meanwhile… to continue on with the tour of the inside. One of the things I loved most about this house was the country kitchen. This kitchen was added on at some point later after the original house was built in 1951.  In the first picture, you are looking into the kitchen from what is now the butler pantry that used to be the original very very small kitchen.

In pictures I’ve seen of this add on kitchen throughout the years, it once had all pea green cabinets.  When we bought the house, the cabinets were white, but the walls were the pea green color still.  In my efforts to keep everything clean looking, I turned the walls white to match the cabinets. And of course added a chandelier.

This kitchen reminds me of my Aunt Ruby’s in her old Southern home up in South Carolina.  I have so many memories as a little girl running through that kitchen and sitting around with family at the middle table.  So when I walked in this kitchen, I saw the same happening for our family we were growing, and I knew this house was our new home.

Because, I mean, how could I not have a pink kitchen door? Or a chandelier?

We love this custom farmhouse table a friend of ours custom made for us!

A friend of mine made this sign to keep me reminded to always choose joy. And I love my Young Living Thieves dish soap, hand soap and fruit and veggie spray know I can clean toxic free!

I love these doors to the laundry room that came with the house!

I love my Young Living diffuser always sharing something yummy in the air to keep us healthy!

This hutch was passed down through the different owners of the home.

Our little coffee bar!

A day doesn’t go by that we aren’t using our Young Living essential oils!

The backsplash used to be superman blue. But I turned it black and white.

And as always, the BEFORE photos of what this kitchen used to look like!

Thanks for visiting!  More rooms in the tour to come next week…
