One of the things I have loved most about blogging over the years is how the internet has helped to connect so many heartstrings. Though we had never met in person, Jennifer is one of those heartstrings that I connected with early when she sent me an email one day when I was a wedding photographer. She wasn’t getting married, she wasn’t even engaged. In fact, she had just broken up with someone, and was struggling now as a single girl again. But something about my blogging about my single girl days moved her enough to reach out and say hello and share her heart with me, as we both waited for God to bring us our perfect match.
All this time later, God has now led Jennifer to her forever love. And again, another email arrived in my inbox asking me if I would consider being the one to take her engagement photos. Though I’m not shooting weddings anymore, I said an immediate yes to photograph her engagement session because I was just so excited to see her love story unfolding after all those emails all those years before.
Introduced by a mutual friend, Jennifer and Chad hit it off instantly and love trying new restaurants together, traveling to new places, attending church together, and spoiling their fur child Rocky! Chad surprised Jennifer with a Christmas proposal up in Asheville, NC by presenting Jennifer with a custom book he had made about their love story and shared faith. When she turned to the last page, it said WILL YOU MARRY ME? and she looked up to see Chad on his knee with a ring. “The book was 30 pages in honor of me being 30,” Jennifer said. “He’s so thoughtful. It was the most perfect proposal, one that I will always remember and look forward to sharing with our kids some day!”
When asked what Jennifer loves about Chad, she said, “I love how thoughtful and romantic he is! I have never felt as loved and adored as I do with him!” And when asked the same to Chad about Jennifer, he said, “I love that she’s the sweetest and most caring person, her big heart and how beautiful she is!” After meeting these two in person, I can testify I see all those qualities in them both!
Rather than plan a big wedding, these two are soon off to elope at a little white chapel in the mountains. It was such an honor to be able to document their love story, and little family with their pup Rocky.
